I have loved art ever since I can remember, sometimes getting into trouble for doodling on my school exercise books but to me it's compulsive and just part of my make up. I am always learning and I am a firm believer that anybody can improve their artistic skills with good tuition and lots of practise!
Having brought up 3 children and a career in Marketing Research I am now indulging myself in artistic pursuits. I am a Trustee and organiser of The Gap Festival and also run a local art group as well as painting, drawing, printing, collaging....in fact I will try anything to satisfy my appetite for developing my skills - it's totally compelling!
I use many different media, such as acrylic, oil, inks, watercolour, collage, mosaics and digital art. I believe that working in a single medium is restrictive to my artistic process. Each idea manifests in its own individual style. I need to keep experimenting.
I live in rural Berkshire near the river Thames and much of my work is influenced by nature. I love recreating plants and wildlife in my work as well as local scenes and also travel abroad usually taking some art materials with me. I also love the human form and am currently life drawing regularly.
